Hybrid Forge is looking for an energetic and experienced server administrator to join our team and help configure, harden, deploy, tune and maintain application servers.

As a Server Administrator at Hybrid Forge, you will be responsible for deploying and maintaining servers for interesting and dynamic business clients.
You must be a self starter, have high standards, be able to work independently and on a team to meet deadlines, take instruction and work towards and offer options/solutions. You must strive to deliver the best quality documentation possible, on-time, and error-free. Our reputation depends on you.
You must be willing to learn new technologies on short-notice, depending on client requests. Duties include facilitating stakeholder meetings, soliciting requirements, as well as implementing infrastructure to run complex, highly efficient applications.
Responsibilities:
- Provision, deploy and maintain servers based system specification documentation;
- Application server (web, web services and database) management and performance tuning;
- Security assessment and hardening;
- Develop and implement backup and redundancy strategies;
- Participate in business and requirements analysis process;
- Meet aggressive deadlines;
- Proactively resolve problems with on-time solutions;
- Communicate potential optimizations to development team;
- Get involved with earliest planning to understand how new applications are intended to work; and,
- Maintain high standards for documentation.
Requirements:
- Microsoft operating system server (2003 and 2008) experience;
- Microsoft SQL database administration;
- Microsoft IIS web server;
- Microsoft Active Directory;
- Virtualization using VM Ware;
- Linux server administration specifically Red Hat and Centos;
- Experience with scripting in windows and linux;
- Networking and firewall experience;
- Familiar with cloud computing technologies such as Google App Engine & Amazon E2C;
- A technical diploma, bachelor's degree, or the equivalent work experience;
- Excellent communications skills both written and oral;
- Understanding of Internet protocols and familiarity with database solutions;
- Excellent ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment; and,
- Proactive individual with demonstrated ability to generate ideas, initiate action and achieve results.
